I serve as General Counsel for Scalable Growth. I spend most of my time on contracts, data privacy and the legal side of keeping a growing company out of trouble. That includes master services agreements, statements of work, vendor and partner contracts, employment and contractor arrangements, privacy policies and the compliance questions that come with marketing in a regulated space like behavioral health.
I have practiced law in Florida for 36 years and I own Lubin Law Firm, where I focus on corporate and business law, data privacy and security, technology licensing and contracts, real estate and property tax appeals. I serve as outside general counsel for several growth-stage companies, so I am used to being the person who reads the fine print, structures the deal and makes sure the paperwork matches the handshake. I am also a former Chair of the Florida Bar Tax Section Ad Valorem Committee.
Behavioral health operators trust Scalable Growth with their brand, their patient data and their growth. Good legal work is invisible when it is done right: the client never has to think about whether the agreement covers them, whether data is being handled properly or whether a regulator would have a problem with a campaign. Clearing that path lets the team focus on the work that actually gets people into treatment, and the industry itself is changing fast, especially around AI and privacy, which keeps the work interesting.
I do not believe in legal advice that just says no. Operators come to Scalable Growth because they want a partner who understands their business, and I take the same approach. I try to identify the real risks, explain them in plain language and offer a practical way forward. Most privacy and compliance issues that come up are ones I have seen before, and I enjoy helping a client get to a confident yes.
I keep my own training current in the areas that matter most to Scalable Growth and its clients. I earned a Certificate in Data Privacy and Technology from Harvard Business School and completed the London School of Economics Executive Education program in AI: Law, Policy, and Governance. On the project side, I am most proud of the long-term general counsel relationships I have built with companies as they scaled. Those relationships work because they are built on being direct, practical, and available.
I live in Weston, Florida, with my wife Lucy, and we have three grown children. I am a big football fan, and I love movies and music (from Classic Rock to Pop Punk). My longest-running obsession is finding the best onion rings in the country. I take recommendations seriously, so send them my way!
